Here Comes The Dinner

Is he ready to take all responsibility? I hope he does.

Ancelotti just had dinner with Perez and other Real Madrid hierarchy. The dinner was held basically to show 'support' for the new coach. Ancelotti lost a home game to city rivals Atletico Madrid 0-1. He lost. He not only lost, he lost by conceding a single goal. His side did not score any goal which is always bad at Real Madrid regardless of whether you win or not. Ancelotti is in a bit of a problem right now. Usually when the president of Real Madrid starts giving you dinners and shows 'support' through media interviews, that means  your time is running out. Capello, Ronaldo, Raul, Mourinho and probably a few hundred more people would attest to that. Ancelotti has to win the 'all important' champions league game … [Read more...]

The Tough Gets Going. Or Do They?

Does he have any idea what he is doing?(Photo by PSG World)

May be people (or just me)are being too harsh with Ancelotti. It’s not his fault entirely. I mean, 95 percent of the fault is his own. His fat physique. His laid back style and the dull, tedious, and repetitious way with which all his teams have played ever since he began his coaching career. … [Read more...]

Mourinho anyone?

No need to think too hard about this guy. Basically. Fundamentally, this guy sucks (Photo by c1915r1)

Real Madrid lost against Atletico Madrid 0-1. At home. Before the match some of the Atletico Madrid fans were taunting Real Madrid fans by calling Real Madrid team a block of rich kids. Well, rich kids got beat, bad, by boys from the back alley. Horrendous might be the word to describe how Real Madrid played against Atletico Madrid. Why? I don't think it was because Real Madrid did not have enough good players or because individual players lacked form. I think it was something more basic and something more integral. The coach. Everybody knows my hatred for Ancelotti. He is old and his methods are probably the ones he learnt from his grandfather. Secondly, I don't know how a manager can make players like Ronaldo, Di Maria, Benzema, … [Read more...]

Lightning Can Strike Twice

How realistic does it sound that Usain Bolt helped Ronaldo to imrpove his speed? Very realistic if Usain Bolt is to be believed. In an interview Bolt said that he helped Ronaldo improve his running technique and can help Bale too, if he wants ofcourse.   You would not see Ronaldo as a player who would be looking for advice on speed from someone else given that he himself has always been the fastest player in the world but apparently he did seek advice from someone who is even fast than him.   In any case, lets say bolt does strike twice and helps Bale improve his speed. I say hire him for a year or two so that he can help all Real Madrid players achieve 97 speed and 97 acceleration if we are talking in terms of FIFA 14 rating … [Read more...]

3 Things Casillas Needs To Improve To Start Playing

Casillas needs to start taking things serious if he wants to get back playing first team football (From Flickr)

Diego Lopez  is the number one supremo (as far as goalkeeping goes) now at Real Madrid. He displaced Casillas from his throne about a year ago. Mourinho signed Lopez as a substitute for Casillas when Casillas broke his wrist. Lopez started to startle people and that got him into the first team permanently. Many thought Mourinho had a feud with Casillas and thus was punishing Casillas for standing up to him. Coaches changed, player went and came in but Casillas's situation remained the same. It is the same right now too. If he does not get his head together, I don't think he will ever play for Real Madrid. Talks have started about Casillas moving to somewhere else in January. Real Madrid president Perez has denied the rumors but, for me, … [Read more...]

Slow Down People

Two legends of the game. Probably better than C.Ronaldo and Messi.(From Flickr)

Now a days we are all very much mesmerized by players who can run at speed. Players who can change direction at speed. Players who can shoot the ball with speed. Players who can head the ball and pass the ball with speed. Speed has become like a religion in some areas of the world and is celebrated over the world. I heard one guy saying the other day that "Gone are the days of survival for fittest, it is survival for the fastest". Well, when talking about football, that is certainly true. Ronaldo, Messi, Daniel Alves, Alba, Kaka all are players who epitomize this new style of play which is totally dependent on speed and power. Brute force is the name of the game today they say. Ronaldo can run at 100 miles per hour while Messi can cut … [Read more...]

22-Sep: The Day Benzema Sucked

Despite Benzema's best efforts, Real Madrid got the win over Getafe this weekend thanks to Ronaldo and Pepe . There was no escape for Benzema who missed two absolute sitters from 4 yards out with no pressure as he got booed by the whole crowd when he was substituted in the second half. Angel Di Maria called it ugly but I call it well deserved. Imagine if those two chances were critical for Real Madrid. Imagine if Ronaldo and Isco had not scored those goals. The kind of opportunities Benzema missed this weekend are exactly the reason why Ozil got the kick from Real Madrid. Benzema should count his lucky stars that Real Madrid did not draw or lose the match because the media headlines would have been very different then. Ancelotti … [Read more...]
