3 Reasons Why C.Ronaldo Is The Best Player In The World

Share with others:

Messi may have been awarded the FIFA Ballon Dor for the year 2011 (which was unfair obviously) but I think most of the people know that Messi’s achievements are a bit deceptive. He plays for Barcelona and has been playing for Barcelona since he could care to remember. Anyway, this post is not about why Messi is not the best player in the world, this post is about why Ronaldo is the best player in the world even though he has been beaten to the award twice by Lionel Messi. Two years ago Ronaldo did not even make the top 3 even after scoring a mammoth 33 goals in 35 games which was bettered by none.

None. Not even Messi could match his goal scoring rate. Anyway, here are the 3 simple reasons why I feel Ronaldo is the best player in the world.

  1. Messi being awarded the best player in the world points towards the fact that in fact Ronaldo is the real number one in the world. Because on the football field Ronaldo can do more things and can be more innovativewithhisplay.Messirequiresveryspecificset of conditions in which he thrives, that is his limitation (same is the case with Mesut Ozil). He wants to world class passers and a wonderful defense behind him to dribble past defenders without having the pressure of retrieving the ball in case he loses is. Ronaldo has got no such luxury. Ronaldo can fit into any system and any style of play as he showcased for Manchester United and Real Madrid.

come on, i’m a madrid fan and love ronaldo, but messi is on another planet. and making such ridiculously bias judgments in favour of ronaldo just makes you look really stupid. the fact that you go on about messi so much, makes you appear very bitter. great players should be celebrated whether their name is messi or ronaldo, just enjoy.

As much as I love seeing a Real Madrid player wins the award, we have to be fair in our judgement. I know Leo Messi is not as complete as CR7 and Cr7 has proven himself to be dangerous wearing any shirt.

But Barcelona has won two of major titles in Europe. That is more than enough to make the voters to side with Leo Messi. Not to mention that CR has become invisible in last classico.

I have a problem with point number three though. Make no mistake, CR is a one dimensional player as well. The only difference between Messi and CR, the former is better at letting the ball go when needed and a far more better passer than the latter.

I agree to a point but, if it’s based on winning your league title and UEFA and God porbid it ever has anything to do with World Cup or the Euro then why wasn’t it given to Wesley Schnider when Inter did exactly that with him being a huge influence for Inter’s success and not to mention his performance for his country which
went to the final for the World Cup.

I don’t know where you  are coming from, maybe you’re an ardent fan of the said player, but of cos i know from all look of things you’re not a footballer, nevertheless as fan you are entitled to your own opinion, all i can say is that Ronaldo is no doubt a very good player in fact one of the best, but if the lot sees and believe Messi is the best player then there is nothing you can do about it.I’m telling you and the world today that Lionel Andres Messi is the best player in the world,it’s not a debate!!!!!!

I know this is a Madrid forum so it would be absolutely stupid to think anything positive about Barca or Leo who has been the main reason Madrid has lost most of the classicos lately. But I don’t know if this is utter fanboism or shambolic lack of common sense that someone can write articles that states something like, ”
Messi being awarded the best player in the world points towards the fact that in fact Ronaldo is the real number one in the world.”.  By that logic, every player that gets awarded the best player points towards the fact that in fact the second or third player or 10th player that plays for the team I support is the best player simply because the player that won plays for the team I hate. How childish!

    1. The first point is so full of biased monologue that it is amazing if the writer actually believes this. To pick one point, ‘He wants to world class passers and a wonderful defense behind him to dribble past defenders without having the pressure of retrieving the ball in case he loses is. Ronaldo has got no such luxury.’ I mean give me a break. One of the first things we (Argentina fans) noticed about him was how he always tracked back when he lost the ball. And by saying Ronaldo has got no such luxury, are you really implying that current Madrid defense or the United defense was somehow not world class? Why are you lying to yourself?

    2. Again to say that Ronaldo does not perform because he is the only best player in his team and gets heavily marked is remarkable disrespect given the amount of talent the current Madrid team has. So you are implying that Messi doesn’t get marked as much? Ask that to any sane football fans and if you care to, watch the classicos and see if Messi was not marked. Or are you suggesting that marking against Cristiano works while Leo somehow manages to evade all those markers? And by somehow suggesting that Ronaldo has performed better for Portugal then Messi for Argentina, you completely disregard one point most Messi vs Ronaldo argument agrees on: Both have not performed to the potential at international level. Messi is already in the top ten highest scorers in Argentina even when playing as an ‘engache’  and you can’t play football with one man- Ronaldo or Messi or even Maradona unless you have a team that is at least functional and even though I am an Argentina fan before anything else; I have no qualms in admitting that Argentina has a long way to go to play as a team.

    3. The third point is just so ridiculous that it makes me wonder if you really wanted to write this as a good comparison based on these two players merits rather then to bash Messi. You call Messi one dimensional and easily stoppable. And in the same breath you call Ronaldo unstoppable. Tell that to most top-pro coaches in the world. You present such an extremely ludicrous bias that even a die-hard madradista who can see things realistically even when hating Barca/Messi must see that this is diabolically stupid effort on trying to ‘prove’ Ronaldo is better then Messi. In trying to ‘prove’ the greatness of Ronlado you have made it look like Ronaldo is the only reason Madrid is doing good. But remember this, individuals does make huge difference but unless you have a team, you don’t win football.

The problem with extreme bias is that you have to reject facts and when you reject facts without giving due thought, you at times inadvertently go on to make fool of yourself.

Enjoy every great player even if you hate them. Sometimes fearing them, sometimes rooting for them.
