With the possibility of playing Barcelona 7 times in a single season not out of question, Arbeloa says that the team is not thinking about Barcelona at the moment. The match is in August hence they have got too many things going right now to be thinking about their fierce arch rivals who have dominated the world of football for the past 2 years.
Real Madrid will play Barcelona for the Supercopa title which would be over two legs. Barcelona won the league last season and Real Madrid won the Copa Del Ray and hence the two champions will face each other for the title.
Arbeloa says that Real Madrid have a match on Wednesday against Chivas Guadalajara and they are focused on that.
Right thinking if you ask me. Otherwise, the mere thought of playing Barcelona puts most players off their game. Anyway, this is going to be Mourinho’s second season with Real Madrid and Mourinho has proved time and time again with his previous teams that it is always the second season where he wins everything. Everything.
The big difference from Mourinho’s past to this league is that he has Barcelona to take care of. Nowhere else was Mourinho required to beat this strong of a team before and it would be interesting to see what tactics and strategies on and off the field he employs next season to finally break Barcelona’s dominance on European football.
