Aguero wanted by Jose Mourinho? May be not (photo by monijojo)

Summer transfer rumors are picking up rapid pace. According to reports, Jose Mourinho has not asked for Sergio Aguero. Well, if he does not want Sergio Aguero then what is the point of putting it up on the news at all? There must be a thousand players not wanted by Jose Mourinho.

Sergio Aguero has publicly said that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid. He also has said that he would prefer to stay in La Liga instead of leaving to BPL or Serie A. Juventus and Chelsea are reported to be keeping a very close eye on Sergio Aguero.

Jose Mourinho however, he dismissed this rumor and rightly so. Even if Jose Mourinho wants two world class players for every position, then he already has that situation for the striker role. Those two players are Higuain and Benzema. Both are world class players and young players. They would develop even more if managed properly by Real Madrid.

But after reading his interview, I think may be he does want Aguero. I mean, he has not dismissed the possibility of Aguero coming to Real Madrid. The part where he says he admires Aguero and talks about Real Madrid’s protocol for signing players, makes me wonder if he really wants to sign another striker.

As the case is with Coentrao, you just cannot imagine Aguero playing for Real Madrid in any attacking role when you consider the bench of Real Madrid which currently has players like Kaka, Higuain, Benzema, Gernaro and  Canales waiting for their turn.

Jose Mourinho said:

“I have not asked for [Sergio] Aguero. I will not be a hypocrite about it though; he is a fantastic player and I like him a lot,” he was quoted as saying by El Larguero.

“However, he is an Atletico Madrid player at the moment. Real Madrid do not approach players before agreeing terms with their club.”

“Both Benzema and Higuain are not for sale. We have talked about this and all agreed that they should stay at Real Madrid.”
