Oezil has also joined his teammates in praising Barcelona for their title win against Manchester United in the finals of the Champions league 2010-2011 at Wembley Stadium. And, if you must know, Messi scored. Pedro and Villa also scored. They literally beat the bejesus out of Manchester United.
While Oezil (like Benzema and Khedira) has praised the standards achieved by Barcelona, he has also noted that Real Madrid are not far behind Barcelona and probably the only team that can beat Barcelona on a regular basis.
Oezil also thinks that winning the Copa Del Ray is not a big deal. He think that Real Madrid failed this season in terms of achieving their goals as Real Madrid lost to Barcleona overall in the 3 most important matches of the season. The Champions League semi final and the 2nd La Liga meeting at Bernabeu.
Real Madrid finished just 4 points behind Barcelona in La Liga and scored more goals than Barcelona in La Liga 2010-2011.

“You could see in the final, [Barcelona] were the better team. We have failed and were sad about it. But we know what potential we have. We have the potential to beat Barcelona,”
“[The season] went very well for me, I made good progress and we won a trophy. And that’s why I moved there: to win titles”
