No Ashley Cole, Mourinho tries for Gerrard and Guti goes to Besiktas
Chelsea’s coach Carlo Ancelloti has come out and said that there is no chance Ashley cole is going to leave Chelsea. He says, Ashley cole might not be happy for now, but he has some jokes in store for him which he thinks will defnitely make Ashely cole, quote “Happy”. Wonder what those jokes are.
Real Madrid would be in dire need of these jokes as we have these problems in the Real Madrid dressing room every year. Ancelloti has clearly stated that the player wants to play for Chelsea even though he does not like England. He considers Ashley Cole to be the best left back in the world.
I don’t know if I want to doubt that. Roberto Carlos has semi retired for some time now (playing in a Turkish league or something) so there is no one as good as and as experienced as Cole. Evra comes close but that is about it. Lahm can play on both wings, I think currently he plays as right back, so he does not count.
Real Madrid would need to gather up quite a lot of money for cole. Something in the region of 20 to 30 million would do but we all know that Perez is not a fan of defensive players and he certainly is not seduced by old defenders. So I do not think he will splash any amount of cash that seems unreasonable to him for Ashley Cole.
Ashley Cole is not the only English Premier League player that Real Madrid are interested in. Or more like, Mourinho is interested in. Reports say that Mourinho has BEGGED Perez to consider a 30 million pound move for Liverpool’s captain, Steven Gerrard.
Mourinho has been a fan of Gerrard since his Chelsea days, we all know that. May be he think Gerrard finally would want to win something big with a big club now that he is moving towards the end of his career. That is certainly not going to happen at Liverpool. Alteast not this year as they failed to qualify for the Champions League last season.
Liverpool are already having difficulties in holding onto Machenrano and Torres. They are likely to leave this summer and that just might put Gerrard over his tolerance zone. With a squad as shit as Liverpool’s (without Torres and Macherano) Gerrard might as well jump the ship and join Real Madrid, where there is no shortage of World Class and famous players.
I would have really liked Real Madrid to sign back Beckham, just a thought that came across my mind when I thought about Real Madrid’s superstar squad. Beckham to raise the profile of this squad even further and to be honest, his passing ability is still the best in the world.
In other news, Guti is all set to announce his departure from Real Madrid. Boy am I glad to hear that. Finally, Guti is leaving. For real. Even though Guti rose to the first team from junior ranks at Real Madrid, but that does not make him untouchable. He lost his  motivation and hunger for success a long time ago in my opinion.
I think, it was the season 2004-2005 when we saw the peak of Guti. After that, it has all been downhill for him but he deserves it. So no need to feel sad or feel sympathetic towards him. Hope he gets humiliated at Besiktas too.
