5 Reasons why Perez would want to sell Higuain

You all must have heard the news that Florentino Perez wants to sell Higuain to make way for another Galactico and because he was bought by Calderon and so Perez does not want any mention of Calderon if Higuain turns out to be one of the star players for Real Madrid in the future to win the club some major silverware. The tabloids also have it that there is some unrest between Higuain and C.Ronaldo so to maintain a good dressing atmosphere Perez wants to get rid of Higuain.

Here are 5 more reasons why Perez would want to sell Higuain:

Higuain may have scored 21 goals but rarely he scores a goal which he creates himself or scores a goal for which one might be tempted to say that Raul would not have scored that. Which basically means that Higuain is no special talent and it is just a matter of his determination and probably luck that he is scoring this many goals. He is like another Kanoute (Sevilla striker) or Darren Bent who plays in the BPL.
Perez is probably killing himself inside because Real Madrid got knocked out in the Champions League and that too by a tier 2 team such as Lyon. Plus, the blame could be put on Higuain as he was the one who missed the open goal opportunity. Perez must have noted his name then.
May be the miss at the Lyon game and several others where Higuain was unable to score at key moments (relatively easy chances) has signalled Perez that Higuain can never be a big game player or a big name player for that matter. Mind you, Higuain has also scored some crucial goals for Real Madrid in the past as well but the miss at Lyon cannot be forgotten or forgiven specially for a man like Perez who wants results no matter what.
Probably this is the best Higuain will be able to play in his entire career so may be this is a good time to sell the guy, make some money and then use that money to buy another Galactico, say like Wayne Rooney.
You could bring in another argument in the form of the “Ronaldinho effect”, I do not want to sound rude but considering the type of guy Perez is (Remember, he rejected Ronaldinho and bought Beckham for the same reason and probably got rid of Makalele for this reason too who knows), I do not think he ranks Higuain and Brad pitt in the same league when it comes to having a pretty face for brand value.

These were the reasons why I think Perez may be tempted to sell Higuain. One thing I did not mention is that Perez might also want to show the footballing world that Real Madrid does know how to do buying and selling when it comes to these players. We always loose money whenever we sell a player but here is the perfect opportunity to double our money because Higuain was bought for relatively cheap price from an Argentinian side, Riverplate. I think it was 13 million or something.

What do you think? Would you stick with Higuain or sell him to make way for Benzema or someone else. I would keep both by the way. As always, I am all ears and want to hear what you have to say.

Really, did you make those points up by yourself? Almost all of them sound really stupid!Higuain is 22 years old, imagine how good he will be when he´s like 25. What do you mean by he doesn create goals by himself?! If not for dribbling past defenders, playing a one-two or getting behind the defence, what else do you call "creating a goal"?And I think Raul wouldnt even score half of the goals Higuain scores. Higuain is about speed and getting behind the defence, hardly Raul´s strength who is nowadays more of a poacher and getting very slow!And how do you foresee that he´s NEVER gonna be a big game player when he misses some easy chances when he´s 22?I believe players like him will grow into these kind of games…Assumptions like "it might be that this is the best Higuain will be able to play" are totally out of context if you look at his development the last years. From being the player that wastes every goal-scoring opportunity, to winning us a league title and keeping us in touch with the best Barca-Team in history?Honestly, I believe it would be the biggest mistake since selling Makelele if we get rid of Higuain! We gave him the time to develop into one of La Liga´s most feared strikers, and we should give him the time to grow into one of Europe´s most feared strikers, too!

hi thortizzle, I think you are looking at the situation from a different perspective than I am albeit I cannot say that you are totally wrong. The titles say the reasons Perez COULD have not HAS so we cannot say that I agree with the points I wrote (which is a bit weird I know, but you get the idea).Second, I have seen Higuain's goals this season and apart from one or two I do not think that we can agree that Raul would not have been able to score those as well.I think it would be subjective to think that it is because of Higuain's efforts that Real Madrid have been able to catch Barcelona. It's a team effort in football plus we also have to take into account the fact that the presence of Ronaldo, Kaka and to some extent Benzema takes a lot of attention away from Higuain which allows him some extra space.

Hi Borris,I agree with your points about team work and I also wouldn't say that Higuain is solely responsible for Madrid's ability to keep abreast with Barca. That seems more like something Cristiano Ronaldo would try to claim. Anyway, with respect to Raul scoring those goals I have to agree with thortizzle. Raul isn't as pacey as he used to be, neither is he as clinical. If you watched his performances a few seasons back and compare them to the raul in his prime, I am sure you would see what I mean. Raul is a hard worker but he is definitely much slower now. I think he would still fit into the team but I think he would be more suited as a midfielder.I do respect Raul's contributions to the club and I think he is deserving of a little more from Pelligrini but with such high expectations from Perez, Pelligrini can not afford to have nothing but the best on the pitch. And with respect to benzema and kaka taking attention away from higuain allowing him to score more goals, isn't that how a team functions? Do you play football? Movement off the ball along with positioning is used to distract your opponent to allow other "TEAM" players into better positions. So i'm afraid my friend your argument has some very weak areas even though I understand that you are saying that you haven't seen much of Higuain. But all I am saying is don't criticize his efforts and his ability until you have really been given enough scenarios to judge from.

with regards to your comment about kaka and benzema taking attentionaway from Higuain. I did not say that there is something wrong withit, I just said that Perez would want a player or more specifically astriker like, brazillian Ronaldo, who did not need his teammates toscore goals, beautiful goals.Higuain is in wonderful form at the moment and may develop a lot infuture but I do not think Perez would give him the chance. Just as hesold Sneijder instead of Raul or Guti, I think Perez would sellHiguain as well.

Ok now I see that you wrote down some points that may have been written in the media (marca) and that those are not points you thought may be the reason to sell Pipita… then sorry for being a bit harsh on you You´re free to say that you think Raul would´ve scored most of Higuains goals, too. Personally I think, a Raul, 2 years ago, would´ve been able to do this, but not the Raul we seen the end of last season/this season. I´m a very big fan of Raul, but I think he´s lost so much pace and stamina. But let´s leave it at that. And I wouldn say that Higuain has some sort of extra breathing space because of Ronaldo´s, Kaka´s and Benzema´s presence. If you look at the media campains that work against him? Marca says he shouldnt be wearing white next season and that he should be benched in favour of Benzema. They say he´s not able to perform to the standards of Real Madrid. Every day he has to prove himself against the media and the galactico policy of Perez. I think he has even more pressure on him to perform well, then Kaka for example, who is a Perez purchase, and therefor a Marca-Darling. You got some points that could prove true though! I think Perez wants to cash in on Higuain, mostly because he´s not his signing and he wants to see his galactico player Benzema up front. But maybe we should just wait and see what happens in the summer!

Higuain is a great player, you don't just want a plyer tht playes by himself, you want a plyer tht can play as a team and make goals when he has anopportunity created by another player. Raul is too old and better sell him, I mean no disrispect to the 2nd most goal scored in the history of Real Mardid, but he should move on to the MLS or something. I think he couldn't have scored some of the goals Higuain has scored last year or this one. Why would ManU sell Rooney to RMadrid and he's to old also only 2-4 more yrs of playing max!!! Also Higuain is 2nd in goals scored in La Liga, just 2 behind Leonel Messi (which i think CRonaldo is better). So selling HIGUAIN WOULD BE STUPID!!! He's only 22 give him a break and some time.

This is why Real Madrid will never win another Champions League title. They disregard natural football talent and look for fashion models instead. As a madrid fan I am absolutely ashamed of the thought that Perez would be so low as to carry this out just because Pipa was bought by Calderon.And some of these points also go against ronaldo as well. If we go a few weeks back I believe he also missed a crucial goal against Barca. Didin't Perez watch that game? If he needs it in HD let him know I can have it delivered to him for free. He clearly does not have the interest of the club at heart. He is merely about his own financial gain. All I can say is that if he does go through with this Madrid will lose my support as well, and wherever Pipa goes I will follow. Madrid is not deserving of fans if they treat their players like this. And as for Cristiano Ronaldo, he better start doing what he was bought for, as I see this happening to him if he doesn't start scoring some goals himself. It may not happen tomorrow but he will be showed up eventually. All the fancy footwork doesn't count if it doesn't help you put goals in the back of the net. And on that note I would bravely say that Pipa is a better player because he plays for the team and not for the media or his fan club.

Hi everyone,I went through all the arguments that have been posted in there. I know that all of you are hardcore “Galacticos” fan and always want the club to do well. But there are certain things that I would like to point out – We have seen in past (era of Del Bosque) that Real Madrid played a game of their own kind. Whenever I was watching that game 19 out of 20 times I could have said that even if Real is 0-2 down, it will come back to win as 3-2 or 4-2. But that is missing. We did see it for some period during the historical 2006-07 season. But again it was only momentary. I can give the reasons for this. Maybe you guys will agree maybe you won't. But I think that these are the facts.Madrid cannot stick to the same coach. After Del Bosque only Capello and Schuster were there to have successfully completed a season. First question is – why change Del Bosque? He gave us 5 trophies in 5 seasons. Why did Mr. Perez change him? That triggered quite a lot of things.Too much "fantasy" buys. Don't get me wrong. Players like Beckham, Kaka, Benzema and Christiano are top of the world players. But you can't have them all. If it was then we would have won all the trophies like Barca did last time. But we are not. Probably we will be trophy less this time also. So this means that there is something fault in the system. Close to 250 million dollars spent but again I don’t see my beloved Madrid lifting a trophy.Not long ago some crucial players donned the Los Blancos jersey – Redondo, Makelele, Cambiasso, Solaari, Mcmanaman. They were not "GALACTICOS" but they were the ones who made Madrid as "THE TEAM TO BEAT". But the fascination of going for the stars, I think, is costing us. I would like to mention what Barca president Mr. Laporte said – "They (Madrid) buy golden balls, we create them". This is a true statement. In the current team other than Raul, Casillas, Arbeloa and Granero to certain extent there are no such players coming up the ranks of madrid.Another thing that I would like to point out in the context of Raul leaving Madrid to play for MLS is that you cannot exchange a talisman. A player who has scored more than 300 goals, you cannot just dump him. To me, this shows that the club has no respect for players. This happened with Hierro, this happened with Redondo. Does this mean that to the club, sentiments do not matter anymore? Honestly speaking, Raul might have become older, he might have lost his touch which made him famous, but he still is Raul. I am not sure about the club's financial standpoints but I cannot agree about Raul going to MLS. Can there be AC Milan without Maldini? The answer is no. I will say that instead of selling Pipita and going for another star, let’s stick to the current team. We can’t forget that period when Madrid sold several of their so called “Benched” players and ran into trouble. Players like Makelele, Cambiasso, Morientes, Solaari, Savio, Jeremy, Mcmanaman went out. The club was never the same ever. I still cannot believe that players like Borja etc played for the club. Don’t get me wrong. They were good players no doubt but not in the class of the players who left. Going by the current squad I can say that Madrid also has not produced a quality player through her ranks apart from Arbeloa. Players like Negredo, Soldado, Portillo were there but again, they were not given chances. Madrid did not stick like Barca and created Messi, Xavi, Iniesta. They went for big names which ultimately made them fall into trouble. We must not forget the likes of Eto’o, Jurado etc who were Madrid but they were neglected and we can see the difference. Even Xavi Alonso was supposed to be a Madrista after 2003 season, but again Mr. Perez went for big names. Can we forget the crucial goals that Pipita scored for Madrid? The Espanyol game, the Osasuna game, the Getafe game – these are unforgettable. He has scored more crucial goals in his short tenure than any others and I don’t think that anyone can protest it. So, I think it will be really a very bad decision to sell players like Pipita, Gago etc and go for big names. I guess Mr. Perez has become old enough to realize that only money can’t bring success.

higuian has been real madris best player in the last two seasons with some very important goals like his first season to ensure real madrid win la liga, stay with higuain and you wont be disapointed you havent anything that this guy has to offer yet , he has real raw talent. from james pipita

i watched the game of of argantina with canada ,the player was not selfesh as he helped hos partner to goal ,but in realmadrid he is selfesh and miss many goals becouse of that….thnks
