Van Der Vaart, Baptista and Robinho, Calderon Ends Ronaldo Saga

Robinho Wants To leave Real Madrid no matter what
Real Madrid winger Robinho is desperate to land a move to Chelsea.
Robinho, 24, said: “I don’t know where I am going to continue my career. The season is starting now and I have offers from other clubs – one of them is Chelsea. But nothing is certain. We’re in talks “
Real refused to let the winger join up with Brazil’s Olympic team.
And Robinho added: “It’s very bad for me to have to watch Brazil’s Olympic team on TV “
“My will was to be with the rest of the group but Madrid did not want to allow me. I am very sad.”
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon insists the Blues will wait until the end of the window.

Van Der Vaart Unveiled at the Bernabeu
Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is likely to be the only new player at Real Madrid this season, club president Ramon Calderon said on Tuesday.
” Rafael van der Vaart is a player of great quality, vision and talent,” Calderon said when the midfielder was unveiled at the Bernabeu.
“We are certain that he will be a player who will help us complement the already very strong squad we have.”
“He is the first and almost certainly the last signing we will make this season.”
Calderon’s comments will fuel recent speculation that the club are beginning to lose hope of luring Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu.

The Portuguese international has been a long-time target for Real, but despite their willingness to pay a world record fee, United have made it clear they are determined to keep the player.
Van der Vaart has signed a five-year contract with Real who will pay Hamburg SV up to 15 million euros for the versatile midfielder.
The former Ajax player will be the fifth Dutchman in the Real Madrid squad, joining Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Royston Drenthe and Wesley Sneijder at the Bernabeu.
“I’ve spoken a lot with Sneijder and he’s spoken very positively about Real Madrid,” said Van der Vaart who added that the fact that his mother is Spanish made the move particularly special.

“For me it is very exciting especially because I have such strong ties with Spain,” he said before admitting that he was not fluent in Spanish.
“Give me two months and then I will be doing interviews in Spanish,” he added with a smile.

Baptista gives the thumbs up to his agent to leave Real Madrid
The agent of Real Madrid attacker Julio Baptista admits a move to Roma could be on after the Spanish club’s capture of Rafael van der Vaart.
Herminio Menendez said: “I do not know, every day you say the same things, expect something, it would be good news if the directors of Roma were in Madrid for talks. Baptista asks to play. He wants a club that gives this opportunity. But there must be an agreement between the clubs “
“Roma is a major club, which plays in the Champions League. There are possibilities, but it does not depend only on the player. Roma is a club that likes Julio, if Roma will meet Real financially, then the player will consider the transfer.”
