Hamburg agree Fees with Real Madrid

Finally, Real Madrid transfer campaign is getting somewhere, Hamburg has accepted Real Madrid offer for Van der Vaart though the deal is not complete yet.

Real Madrid are “EXPECTED” to complete the £8 million signing of Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart next week.

Marca says Hamburg chiefs expect the deal to be closed by Tuesday and are preparing to announce the Dutchman’s departure for Madrid.

The Bundesliga club have accepted Real’s improved £8 million bid, after throwing out a £5 million offer last week. Van der Vaart will ink a five-year Real Madrid contract after the weekend.

May be Real Madrid did not leave Van Der Vaart for the January market (when he will be off contract which means Real Madrid can sign him for free) for some good reasons. One, had Real Madrid stepped back and waited for January, then other clubs could also have lined up for Van Der Vaart and that could have been a problem for Real Madrid in terms of the wages they would have paid to Van Der Vaart as more clubs in competition basically leads to the player wanting more money.

Second, Real Madrid want to show Van Der Vaart that Real Madrid do respect Van der Vaart and consider him to be an important player as had Real Madrid left him for January signing then Van Der Vaart might have thought that Real Madrid just want to sign him because he is a free agent not because solely because of his talent and abillities.

But the deal still has not been confirmed officially so I suggest we all keep waiting before commenting on how will he fit into the system of Real Madrid and what might happen in future (like I have just done in the previous paragraph).
