Calderon, Benzema, Robben And Real Madrid
Calderon getting worried about Real Madrid transfer plans
OK, finally some NEWS, not the regular crap. Ramon Calderon is finally thinking about something else than Ronald, I have heard that Ramon Calderon has told all the “transfer making people” to work on other summer targets because Ronaldo deal is not going well.
Calderon actually has held a meeting to discuss this matter, I think it is about time that Real Madrid move on, Ronaldo would have been a great signing but if no then no. I think Manchester United’s attitude and Ronaldo’s amateur behavior over the whole matter should have been enough for any club to back off and now I am glad that Real Madrid has finally done so.
Calderon had some sort of a Plan B if Plan A failed (Plan A is the Ronaldo transfer), so now Calderon is ready to work on his PLAN B because Real Madrid has not strengthened at all this summer with the exception of Garay. Real Madrid sold Granero, Balboa and Antonio Cassano while Barcelona has strengthened a lot and have sold Ronaldinho!! which is in a way both a good thing and bad thing for Real Madrid.
Good, because Barcelona would no longer have a genius in their midfield as talented as Ronaldinho. I know Ronaldinho was not performing great for the past two seasons but I think he is still pretty useful even with his weight problems and stuff. I think Ronaldinho’s form is equal to most player’s potential such is Ronaldinho’s class. Andbad, because it would really strengthen AC Milan which is the only club close to reaching that magical figure of 10 Champions League apart from Real Madrid. Real Madrid currently has 9 and AC Milan has 7. Addition of Ronaldinho would certainly be helpful for AC Milan to get to 8 atleast.
Well, at least AC Milan cannot do it this season as Ac Milan could not end up in top four last season in Serie A which is like a big shame for such a huge club.
Anyway, coming back to Real Madrid’s PLAN B. Real Madrid would now look to use the money put aside for Ronaldo to buy Van Der Vaart (which I am disgusted at as we have Sneijder so we do not need him) and David Villa ( I personally do not like him though he is a highly reputed player in Spain). I think he is more of a Morientes rather than Van Nistelrooy which means that he can excite the fans but not fascinate them.
Barcelona and Real Madrid fight it out for Benzema
In other news, Barcelona are rivalling Real Madrid for Benzema which is not a new thing as Barcelona always come in Real Madrid’s way when it comes to signing big players or future talents, believe it or not, Barcelona also wanted to sign Beckham and Ronaldinho was not their priority at that time. Real Madrid got Beckham and Barcelona got Ronaldinho and sadly Barcelona got the best into that deal.
Benzema has said that he wants to play in Spain (actually he said he wanted to play for Barcelona on one occasion and on another, he said that he would like to play for Real Madrid) but here is another twist, Benzema says that he wants to play for another season at Lyon so this means Real Madrid and Barcelona AND many other clubs, cannot or should not negotiate with him this season.
Few weeks ago I heard that Real Madrid have the first option on Benzema but now it seems that Barcelona have not taken this news lightly and want to begin talks with Benzema for next seasons move right now and as you would expect, Real Madrid is not sitting idle either.
I think Real Madrid is more hungry for Benzema. First because Barcelona already has added some very very good players to an already very very good squad, though they had some inner problems but I am talking in terms of talent right now. Anyway, so Barcelona would not be so much inclined to pay crazy money for Benzema in trying to fend off Real Madrid.
Whereas Real Madrid has had very little re-enforcements and now Ronaldo’s chase is coming to an embarassing end, Real Madrid definitely would go for Benzema and pay whatever Lyon ask to satisfy the usual impatient Real Madrid fans and to give some options to Schuster as well so that Real Madrid could compete for the Champions League next season because with Van Nistelrooy as the only pure and recognised striker currently in the squad , surely Real Madrid cannot rely on him to play every match or even every important match.
Robben was flying high in the last game
Moving on to the wingers side of the team (excluding the Robinho’s situation here) Robben had a great game two days ago in a friendly match against a team whose name I can’t remember. Robben performed very well and looked in good shape, was good on the ball and took on defenders with his usual deadly speed, thats basically all to this news.
The Dutch winger had a hand in two of the game’s goals and remarked afterwards: “I think it was a good physical test “
“Personally I am very well and things have gone just perfect for me and the team. What I want is to be stronger every day, do well in training and prepare for a great season “
“For me, this year is very important because last season I was often injured. I want to do well right from the start.”
