Man Utd ‘ready’ to discuss Ronaldo deal

Manchester United may finally be ready to talk about selling Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, the Spanish sports newspaper Marca reported Wednesday.
The Glazer family, which bought the club in 2004, “has agreed to the operation,” as they feel his value could decrease if they hold onto him, it said, quoting sources close to the affair.
Real Madrid are believed to be prepared to offer around 85 million euros (134 million dollars) for the 23-year-old, who is under contract at United until 2012, and pay him nine million euros on a five-year deal.
Ronaldo, a boyhood Real fan, has consistently been linked with a move to the Spanish capital since the end of last season, after scoring an impressive 42 goals last term as United won both the Premier League and Champions League.
My Thoughts
There was only one end to this story and that was that C.Ronaldo would move to Real Madrid. Calderon just said no more signings. Whats going on fellows.
If you look at my previous posts, like two three weeks old, this is exactly what I had said that C.Ronaldo’s value would decrease for sure now, because he cannot repeat this 42 goal feet and now, when he does not want to play for Manchester United, obviously he would not perform like he did last season which would lead to a sharp fall in his value.
This was clear to me from the first day that although Ferguson may not like to loose Ronaldo for such amount, the Glazers certainly would. I think this is the right time for Ronaldo to go to Real Madrid. I think even if Real Madrid do end up paying 80 million euro for him, it would be a good deal for both.
As Real Madrid would get all his future image rights money and stuff and most of all Ronaldo would spend his peak years at Real Madrid, entertaining the fans which does not mean that he would help the team also while doing so.
I think Manchester United just wanted to show this resistance so that Manchester United let Real Madrid know that Manchester United would only do business for offers above 70 million euros. Real Madrid I think knew this from the start.
I would again repeat my take on this and that is , Ronaldo would be perfect signing for Real Madrid if Calderon wants to please the fans and the economic Guru’s of the club but from the sporting point of view, it would not be like when Zidane or Ronaldo came, because C.Ronaldo is more of a showman rather than a footballer.
