“Real Madrid wish to announce an agreement has been reached with Getafe CF for the transfer of Esteban Granero to the latter club. Real Madrid reserve themselves the right to purchase the player again and to earn capital gain from a possible future transfer. The Club wishes to thank Granero for his work and wishes him to be successful on a professional and personal level, and to continue growing as a player.”
“Esteban Granero is a product of Real Madrid’s youth system. His rise at the Club was fast ever since he played in the Brunete Under-13 Tournament. He played for Real Madrid C in the 2005/06 season, being one goal short from getting promoted to the Second Division B. His excellent performances got him promoted to Castilla, with whom he stood out in the Second Division. He was loaned out to Getafe last season, with whom he played much in Spain and Europe. He scored a goal in the King’s Cup final against Valencia.”
It is official now, Granero is a Getafe player now, I wish him the best, although he has stated that he wants to return to Real Madrid through that Buy Back clause that Real Madrid has put in his contract. If he performs well then why not.
