Ronaldo kicks Real Madrid’s Raul into action
News

Raul begins Real Madrid preseason in the best shape of his career.
El Mundo Deportivo says Raul has put his omission from Spain’s Euro2008 triumph to good use by hiring a personal trainer to work with him this summer.
Raul has concerns over the potential arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United and is doing all he can to maintain his first-choice status. The appointment of Vicente del Bosque as new Spain coach is also acting as inspiration for Raul, who is determined to break back into the national team.
My ThoughtsOfcourse, who wouldn’t be concerned about his first team place if C.Ronaldo is coming to the team. Raul worked really hard last season to get his old form back, performed very well for the past two seasons both under Schuster and Capello. Still his goals and hard work was not enough for the Luis Aragones who thought that Raul is not yet ready for Spain.

Raul now can make it to the Spanish squad now that fat Aragones is gone
Who can criticize Aragones, now that he has won Euro 2008 without Raul but I personally think that Aragones was totally wrong over this all Raul situation. How could he even dare to include Guiza ( Mallorca Striker) and Sergio Garcia ( Real Zaragoza winger) over Raul, which he did actually, in the Euro 2008 spanish national squad.

Raul is the one of the best players that Spain has at the moment
I could not believe this act from Aragones and from that point I knew that it was not just because Raul had lost his touch which he had 3 seasons ago. And yeah he wasnt a player he was 3 seasons ago but the choices Aragones had other than Raul were far less satisfying than Raul himself.
He even played Soldado in some qualifiers but just did not select Raul which is totally unjustified. Had Aragones not won the Euro 2008, I think the media would had ripped him apart. Raul is a class act and even when he is not performing well, his work ethic , more than makes up for it.
I think this is the time for Raul to work hard even more to get his chance in the National team for the remainder of his 5 or 6 year career. I do not think Ronaldo’s arrival would harm his first team prospects, he is a legend at Real Madrid and has performed very well over the last two seasons. I would certainly pick him over Ronaldo every time for a big game if it was to be like this otherwise I do not think Raul would be sacrificed for Ronaldo.
Robinho and Robben should be more worried if C.Ronaldo is signed which I doubt (the signing). I think Vicente Del Bosque would certainly select him as a squad member for the rest of his tenure as Spain’s National team coach because Raul is the most deserving of it, he works hard every training session and never gives up.
I think Raul does not even need to worry about his National team prospects, I think it was only because of Aragones’s personal problems with Raul, that Raul could not play in the Spanish team and now that Del Bosque is there ,who coache Real Madrid for 2 seasons and won a lot of trophies but still got sacked unjustlly , I am sure that after Casillas the first name on the teamsheet would be of Raul.

I don't understand a coach that puts his own personal problems above the national team. A national team should consist of the best players a country has. Raul should have been in that team and Del Bosque knows the mistake he has made. Maybe in the future he will consider his actions with more reason.

Eso es absolutamente algo para escuchar. Me alegro de que todavía consideran a Raúl como un jugador que haya respeto. Era el mejor del Real Madrid, ya sabes. Espero que pueda vivir a la expectativa en el Schalke también.
