Transferred to Getafe

Getafe have snapped up Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero on a five-year deal, the champions’ city rivals have claimed.

The 21-year-old has made his switch permanent after spending last season on loan with the Primera Division outfit.

It is believed that Madrid valued the player at around €24m (£18.4m).

Spurs were also linked the player, who is part of the Spain Under 21 team.

My Thoughts

Wow, happened quite quickly as in no build up in the rumours or anything. Just one night and boom, Gatafe sign Granero, I though Schuster wanted to keep this player, but as you know, anything can happen in football, or in any sport..yeah actually, anything can happen in LIFE.

Ok, so it has not been confirmed for how much Real Madrid has sold him for. Anyway, I have heard that Real Madrid has included a buy back clause in the deal as well which Real Madrid always do with their young talents which Real Madrid think could become world class in another team as youth players rarely get a chance to play in Real Madrid’s starting line up.

To play for Real Madrid first team when coming from youth teams, you have to be like Iker Casillas, best in the world by far or atleast one of the best in the world which is a pretty tough thing to do when you consider that youth system players are at best 21 or 22 years old.

Or you have to be like Guti, sit on the bench during the best days of your career and then get into the first team when you are like 30 or 31.

Anyway, I thought Real Madrid would give him a chance this time around but then again, look at last season. There are too many players in that position in the current Real Madrid squad. I mean,  players like Diarra and Guti had to sit on the bench for many matches for reasons other then injury and rest. So how can a new guy Granero be adjusted, it is just impossible.

We’ll see how Granero turns out. I like his touch on the ball and his free kicks are just phenomenal, I think he will be a success at Getafe , whether or not he progresses to the extent that Real Madrid buy him back remains to be seen. HALA MADRID
