Beckham would love for Ronaldo to come to Real Madrid
David Beckham has told Cristiano Ronaldo that Real Madrid are the only club to rival Manchester United.
Beckham, a former United star, swapped Manchester for Madrid in a £25million move in 2003 as he brought to an end a 10-year spell at Old Trafford.
And with United winger Ronaldo at the heart of a summer-long transfer battle with Real, England midfielder Beckham has told the Portuguese ace that he could do worse than a move to Santiago Bernabeu.
“He is the best player in the world at the moment and is a young talent that has proved himself over the last few years,” Beckham told Sky Sports News.
“Last season everyone saw what he did for Manchester United.
“The fans love him and there would be a lot of disappointed people if he did leave Manchester.
“But obviously, when I left Manchester United the only club I wanted to play for was Real Madrid.”
My Thoughts

So the famous saying of Once a Red, always a Red is not true after all. Well, this was on the cards even before the news came. Beckham, obviously followed the same path C.Ronaldo is trying to follow, ofcourse for not that much amount of money but similar case that Beckham was also at his peak and Real Madrid came after him after calculating his market value.
I think the reason Beckham said what he said was that. One, Beckham considers himself as good a player as C.Ronaldo, which he was not, by comparing his situation to Ronaldo’s he is trying to give the impression that Real Madrid do not just bouoght Beckham because of his name and looks but also because he was a good player.
Second, Beckham wants to defend Real Madrid (the way I see this as a Real Madrid fan) from that Coppell attack (reading’s coach) by saying that there is only one place after Manchester United and that is Real Madrid, not Barcelona or AC Milan.
Personally, I did not thinkBeckham would ever make this kind of a statement considering how he left Real Madrid after not getting his contract renewed on his terms. It’s good to see, he still remembers Real Madrid as the club of his dreams. I want C.Ronaldo at Real Madrid for all reasons except sporting one’s. The money, the image, the sponsors all of these benefits I think are more than enough to sign Ronaldo although I absolutely hate him when he plays on the field, if Ronaldo did not had the image he has right now, no way I think, I or even Real Madrid would consider paying 100 million for him.
