Baptista May Go To Galatasaray

Baptista, thinks over his future
The Turkish club are hoping to land the Brazilian misfit to bolster their attacking options and club president, Adnan Polat, is holding the talks personally, according to AS.
Madrid have told Baptista that he is free to talk to other club and will not be a first choice member of Bernd Schuster’s squad next and he is said to be considering all options.
Roma are also believed to be monitoring his situation, but Galatasaray have taken the upper hand by jetting to Spain to try and tie a transfer up quickly.
Los Merengues have mooted a price of €20m, but a fee of around €15m is more realistic and that is what the Turkish giants are aiming to persuade Madrid to accept.
Baptista has also been linked with a return to England, but after his disparaging remarks about the climate and food following a loan spell at Arsenal, he would resist going back to the Premier League.
After spending three seasons in São Paulo’s first team squad, the 26-year-old moved to Sevilla in 2003 and made his name with two impressive campaigns for the Andlucian outfit.
A big money move to Real Madrid followed, but he failed to reproduce the form that made him a favourite at the Sánchez Pizjuán and was loaned to the Gunners in 2006.
My Thoughts
If this is true that Bernd Schuster does not want to include him in his first team plans then I think he should leave and he will leave ofcourse.
I think Real Madrid bought him when in a panic mode, meaning that Real Madrid needed to strengthen itself with some fresh blood at a time when the club on field performances was gruadually lacking quality and results.
So Real Madrid decided to add a player who already plays in La Liga so that when the player comes to Real Madrid, he does not have to adpat to the new league. The obvious answer at that time as Baptista who scored that goal which knocked Real Madrid out of the Spanish League title. He scored from a header and had ferocious pace for his size in that season which I think convinced Real Madrid to buy him.
I still remember when during the last moments of that Real Madrid home game when Real Madrid I think drew the match which ended the title chase and Barcelona won the La liga, Sevilla broke on the counter attack with the ball at baptista’s feet who was running like a tank. Nobody could keep with the Beast.
Helguera ( a Real Madrid defender at that time who now plays for Valencia) tried to stop him by any fair means but could not so what did he do? yes, he grabbed him and tackled him with his studs right on Baptista’s calf muscles. Baptista went down and Helguera was shown the red card.
I think thats enough about this rumor, anything you would like to add can be added through the comments section. I would love to hear something from you guys on this because Baptista has got talent thats for sure, whether Real Madrid are prepared to take the risk of playing him out of position or as a sub is another matter.
