Real Madrid midfielder Julio Baptista admits he’d be open to a move to Roma.

“I am on holiday in Brazil and I do not know anything,” Baptista told Marca when asked about a possible move. “My plan at the moment is to stay in Madrid, but I do not know what can happen in the future and Roma is a great club.”

My Thoughts

Ok, so this means, Baptista is also not so inclined to stay at Real Madrid, if Real Madrid do not offer Baptista a regular first team action. Selling Baptista, could make up for the record transfer fee Real Madrid are trying to pay for C.Ronaldo. Or may be Bernd Schuster decided to have him as cover for Sneijder, Guti and Raul.

That remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, that Roma now want to be with the big guns now, they signed Cicinho and Guily for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively last summer, not to mention Juan, a fantastic and consistent performer for Brazil in the past.

Now they want to furthur strengthen their squad to get furthur into the Champions League stages.
