My Thoughts
Robinho, the final piece of the Chelsea puzzle
OK, so now Chelsea want to shape up their final squad for the upcoming season and Robinho seems to top that list. Ofcourse, he is a world class talent, any team and many teams want him right now but Chelsea are looking the most interested party. Abramovich probably wants his Chelsea to play some stylish football and there is no better player than Robinho to achieve that goal.
I want you guys to remember, that Chelsea came this close to winning the double last season but Man Utd just got ahead of them in the end. Given that no key Chelsea player leaves Chelsea this season then Robinho’s addition would definitely put Chelsea in a strong position to do the double next season.
Scolari and Robinho old pals from Brazil’s International team
One thing mroe to remember is that last season Chelsea had alot of problems with their coach and stuff and now they have a highly qualified coach in Scolari, who has worked with Robinh before while working for the Brazil National team and knows that he can devise a system in which Robinho would be very comfortable playing his game.
Real Madrid are currently investing all their money to sign C.Ronaldo and if Real Madrid succeed, Real Madrid may consider Robinho to be a surplus to the requirements which I think would be a mistake but if you look at it from a neutral point of view, then I would say Robinho should probaby move on to furthur improve his game.
Real Madrid may get some extra cash boost by selling Robinho to fund C.Ronaldo transfer fee. Real Madrid is not actually willing to let Robinho go, as in recent comments I have read that Real Madrid do not want to sell him, well I think it all depends on how C.Ronaldo deal goes.
Robinho currently is in Brazil with his wife and expects to hear from the club wiithin a few days about his contract. Real Madrid and Robinho’s agent have been talking over this for a long time now but it seems no agreement has been reached yet. Robinho wants a improve contract based on his world class performances last season at the start.
His form dipped towards the end of the season which lead to him being dropped from the first team to the substitute bench. Robinho also is not totally commited to Real Madrid. I have heard that staying at Real Madrid is his preferred choice but if a good economical package comes his way from another club, he would not hesitate in taking that by leaving Real Madrid.
I think, if Real Madrid are unable to sign Ronaldo then securing Robinho to a long term contract is a must. Hala Madrid!
