Real willing to pay £65m for Ronaldo

News

Real Madrid are willing to pay £65million to bring Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo to Spain, a source close to the club’s president Ramon Calderon has revealed.

Calderon recently ruled out an £80m bid but has now come back with a revised offer.

A source told Madrid Sports daily AS: ‘Cristiano is most likely going to come to Madrid because he’s made a decision that he’s unlikely to go back on. The transfer will close in at ’85m.’

My Thoughts

Now Real Madrid, just as I suspected, are trying to take advantage of Ronaldo’s desire to join Real Madrid by asking Manchester United to lower their price for him. So Real Madrid are trying to turn the tables over, first Manchester United wanted a higher price because Real Madrid wanted C.Ronaldo so bad.

Real Madrid not obsessed about the want away Ronaldo

Now, its the opposite that now Manchester United are being told to lower their asking price or the deal will not go through and we all know what is going to happen if the deal does not go through. If the rumors are true that C.Ronaldo wants to join Real Madrid at any cost, then if he does not get his transfer, he would have no motivation at all in the coming season while playing for Manchester United.

This would lead Ferguson to bench Ronaldo for the rest of the season, and then the next season, Ronaldo will use FIFA’s rule to get himself transfered to Real Madrid by buying out his remaining contract with Manchester United. FIFA’s rule states that a player can buyout his contract if he has featured in less than 10 percent games for the club in a season.

Since Manchester United are clever enough to know this and probably Ferguson will put him up in the starting lineup for at least 10 percent matches, I think C.Ronaldo would respond by not appearing for training or on match days. If that is the case then this would only lead to even more complications for Real Madrid in their quest to sign C.Ronaldo.

C.Ronaldo would no doubt get rusted if the scenario described above, actually happens. So I say if Real Madrid cannot buy him this season then do not go for him in the next season as he will not be the same player as he is now after a year or so.

Zidane has said that Real Madrid should pay any money that Manchester United demand for C.Ronaldo, a legend such as him cannot say that on his own. I think he is experienced enough to  know that C.Ronaldo is not worth more than Quaresma etc. He is probably worth 40 or 50 million euros.

Zidane only made that statement because, I think, he was forced to. Real Madrid must have tapped him up and told him to make a statement and I am not sure abut this, I am just guessing because if Real Madrid did do this then they would have told Zidane so say something like “no player is worth this money” or something.

Real Madrid know that even if Real Madrid do not agree on a transfer fee with Manchester United, Ronaldo will force Man Utd to accept this 65 million pound offer or otherwise he can threaten to walk out on Man Utd which I think a selfish person like him would not do although I stated earlier that he might but I just gave a scenario, I do not think Cristiano wants Real Madrid that bad.
