One of the toughest rivals that was left in the league for real madrid, now that barcelona were close to real madrid, real madrid had to win this to keep a comfortable lead at the top of the table. Real madrid got off to a perfect start when heinze headed the ball into the goal after the free kick was taken by scniejder. 10 minutes or so later, Kanoute found himself in the box unmarked while the loose ball fell perfectly for Kanoute to volley the ball into the lower right corner past Casillas who as left stranted.
As always, the man of crisis is Raul, one minute after Kanoute scored, Raul chested a ball down from sniejder, into the penalty area, held off challenges from two defenders and slammed the ball into the top corner with a brilliant finish giving Real Madrid the lead once again. Real Madrid came out in the second half with a definitive game plan and stuck to it, guti played really well.
The most disappointing player by far was Higuain, I mean this guy’s first touch and speed sucks even more than Brad Pitt’s last three movies. Everybody thought that Higuain was an understudy of raul and that he could possibly replace Van Nistelrooy, that statement also sucks but not as much as higuain does. Yeah I agree Higuain performs better under pressure but the chances he missed in this match were just unacceptable.
I know he scored the third goal for Real Madrid which killed the game off and the chance he took was way more difficult than the chances he missed earlier in the game, like one on one with the keeper two times which basically shows that he is completely a instinctive player who has no idea what he wants to do. That was proved from the chances he missed and the chance from which he scored,.
Anyway, I do not think he is a Real Madrid class player, Baptista as a striker would have been way better choice. Real Madrid has now got passed a very difficult opponent and now the route looks clear to the title with only Barcelona match, the big game left.
