Real Madrid’s lead is now of 6 points

Bad news, Barcelona has cut down real madrid’s lead to six points by defeating osasuna at home 1-0, with xavi scoring in the 88th minute. I watched the whole 90 minutes hoping osasuna would get something out of this difficult match but they did not as barcelona scored late in the game. The goal was not the best xavi has ever scored but it did require him to maintain his composure and accuracy which he did and scored a crucial goal for barcelona which may play a pivotal role in dethroning the current champions real madrid.

I hope real madrid can get back to winning ways again and increase their lead even more with a win over valladolid and if barcelona loose their next game then that would be like icing on the cake. Still it is too early to say these things but I certainly do not want a repeat of the 1996 season in which manchester united pipped newcastle, who had like a 10 point lead over manchester united, to win the epl title. Coming back to the topic, barcelona’s goal pretty much sucked as it was just luck that osasuna’s goalkeeper was way out of position giving enough site of goal to xavi, who dispatched the loose ball into the goal with ease. Anyway, well done barcelona, they worked hard and rijkaard made some brave substitutions like bringing on Giovani Dos Santos for henry and taking off Lionel Messi.
