Ronaldinho To Real Madrid?

Ronaldinho To Real Madrid?

On of the other rumors which means unverified reports so to say is that Real Madrid are pondering about signing none other than Ronaldinho who plays for Real Madrid’s arch rivals Barcelona. A Few months ago this rumor would had certainly made me fantasize about the possibilities Ronaldinho would bring to a club with greatness such as Real Madrid. Now when I read this rumor, it doesn’t really gets my juices flowing knowing that it’s none other than Ronaldinho but still I would buy him certainly not for 90 million Euros but somewhere around 20 or 18 million Euros because after all he is the two time World Player Of The Year and European Player Of The Year as well.

There is no denying to the fact that Ronaldinho is one of the all time greats of football, for me he is right up there with Pele, Maradonna, Cruyff and Ronaldo if Ronaldinho gets his act together of course. Ronaldinho’s form is not the best at the moment but still he has enough skill to outclass any other attacker, outdo defences and scoring mind blowing free kick goals. Real Madrid would definitely benefit from Ronaldinho’s signing, firstly because if he comes to Real Madrid he would have new motivation to prove himself again to the world and especially to Barcelona’s coach Rijkaard, who for the past 5 or 6 months has criticized him alot although in football it’s the team that wins together and it’s the team that loose together, you cannot really blame only Ronaldinho for Barcelona’s lack of success for the past season and a half but yeah there is some problem with Ronaldinho’s attitude.

Some say Ronaldinho’s lifestyle is not ideal for an athlete who has to perform at the highest level and others say he does not like to train much often. This should be taken into consideration if Real Madrid are to sign him that maybe now, when Ronaldinho has achieved everything, he is no more concerned whether he is fulfilling his responsibilities which have been given to him, he does not want to sacrifice for the team and when the team needs him the most to come up with the goods, he lets them down now. Yes, it’s true that Ronaldinho can no more be the Ronaldinho of 2 or 3 years ago, he can no longer beat 5 defenders and score a goal, he has lost his explosive acceleration due to lack of fitness or for whatever reason but still even Ronaldinho’s not so good form is equal to many player’s full potential, never mind when Ronaldinho is playing well.

Whether Real Madrid sign him or not, that remains to be seen but still I think we should all wish Ronaldinho all the luck he needs to get to his perfect best and entertain all of us with his artistry, his gravity defying overhead kicks, his bursting runs through the middle of the field, his defense splitting through balls and I am not going to mention his smile as it’s always there whether he is playing well or not, he was even smiling when he intentionally went down to get a penalty against Real Madrid this season which obviously he did not get but what he did get was some serious taunts from Sergio Ramos and Cannavaro. Still he is a wonderful player who will no doubt continue to fascinate us with his samba skills for years to come. For now it’s just a shame that Barcelona can no more turn to Ronaldinho’s majesty when things aren’t going well for them on the field.
